ABOUT

Since 1976, Old Stone Bridge (OSB) has been one of the best kept secrets in mid-country Cos Cob.  41 classic and tasteful homes are nestled in the idyllic 75+ acres of lush forest, hiking trails and serene ponds.  OSB is home to a diverse array of woodland and pond creatures, big and small, not to mention 41 active and fun-loving households and families.

Located centrally in town, Old Stone Bridge Preserve was originally set aside from residential development in 1976 and later donated to Greenwich Land Trust for permanent protection in 1992. Abutting parcels create a 40-acre greenway characterized by steep sloped forests and ponds connected by meandering streams.

Lying within the developed, residential landscape of Cos Cob, the Old Stone Bridge Preserve is a great example of vibrant open space among the more densely populated areas of Greenwich. The ponds and streams are home to fish and waterfowl. Old logs are often crowded with basking turtles soaking up the sun’s rays. The upland woods on the preserve have an abundance of nut-bearing oaks and hickories, which provide a rich food source for wildlife such as turkey, squirrels, and mice. In turn, raptors are a common sight hunting for small mammals and nesting in the canopy.

This important piece of open space, with its varied habitat types and many ecological services, is a wonderful example of how valuable conservation land can be in densely developed communities.

Come live and play in beautiful OSB!
